Rite of Family Communion

Rite of Family Communion[*]

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen[†].

Lord, have mercy on us.
Because we have sinned against you.
Show us, Lord, your mercy.
and grant us your salvation.

May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us to eternal life. Amen.

At the Saviour’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father...

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil
graciously grant peace in our days,
that, by the help of your mercy,
we may be always free from sin
and safe from all distress,
as we await the blessed hope
and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

For the kingdom, the power and the Glory are yours, now and forever.

Lord Jesus Christ,
who said to your Apostles:
“Peace I leave you, my peace I give you”;
look not on our sins,
but on the faith of this family of yours,
and graciously grant us peace and unity
in accordance with your will.
Who live and reign
for ever and ever. Amen.

The peace of the Lord be always with us. Amen.

(family members offer each other the sign of peace)

Lord, we are not worthy
that you should enter under our roof,
but only say a word
and our souls shall be healed.

JESUS, COME NOW SPIRITUALLY
TO OUR HEARTS. AMEN.

May Almighty God, bless us, the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Hail Mary...

[*]After dinner, all gathered together in the presence of a crucifix or an icon of Christ and with a lit candle, all pray together for the family so that being in communion with Christ they can enjoy the gift of unity and peace.

[†] What is written in bold should be recited by all together, the rest, by the father or either the mother.
